Two nationally decorated black belts, one shared conviction — JKA-standard Shotokan should be within every student's reach.

Ayaan Haider

Founder & Head Coach
2nd Dan — JKA WKF Verified Coach 5× National Champion International Competitor — Japan

A five-time national champion who has competed internationally in Japan — the birthplace of Shotokan — Ayaan Haider is a 2nd dan certified black belt by the Japan Karate Association (JKA) and a verified coach with the World Karate Federation (WKF). In 2025, he founded Aji-Do Shotokan Karate with one conviction: championship technique should be teachable, not mysterious. Every syllabus, grading and class on this platform carries the standard he fought by — precision first, power second.

"Power fades. Precision compounds. That is why we drill."

Meraj Hussain

Co-Founder & Senior Coach
2nd Dan — JKA WKF Verified Coach 5× National Champion International Competitor — Japan

The co-founder of Aji-Do and partner to Ayaan Haider, Meraj Hussain is also a five-time national champion who has tested his karate on international tatami in Japan. A 2nd dan certified black belt from the JKA and a WKF-verified coach, Meraj translates elite competition experience into patient, exacting instruction. Where Ayaan sets the standard, Meraj makes sure every student reaches it — rep by rep, kata by kata, belt by belt.

"A student never fails a technique. A teacher simply hasn't finished teaching it."
Our Lineage

The JKA Legacy.

In 1922, Gichin Funakoshi — the father of modern karate — carried Okinawan te to mainland Japan and reshaped it into a way of life: karate-dō. His twenty precepts turned a fighting art into a discipline of character.

In 1948, his senior student Masatoshi Nakayama founded the Japan Karate Association (JKA) to preserve and systematize that teaching — building the world's foremost Shotokan institution, standardizing gradings, and codifying the kihon, kata and kumite methodology that serious dojos still train by today.

Aji-Do Shotokan Karate stands in that lineage. Our gradings, kata syllabus and kumite training follow JKA standards — the same precision Funakoshi demanded and Nakayama built an institution upon.

The ultimate aim of karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants.
